You’re Invited to a Book Launch Party!

Those of you who live in Maryland (or are willing to take a short vacation), please join me for one of my book launch parties for The Carolina Emerald.

Sponsored by Dickinson Jewelers, these parties are really fun. There’s always lots of laughter and good food and drink. Since they’re held in the Dickinsons’ store, you’ll find gorgeous jewelry to drool over. And for the first time ever, I’ll be selling signed, quality paperback copies of all three books.

We’re doing two parties this year, one in the Prince Frederick store and the other in the Dunkirk store. If you live somewhere other than Calvert County, MD, the Dunkirk store is the more northern one and probably more convenient.

You can see the dates, times and locations in the photo above, but I’ll repeat below.

First, however, here’s some good news for those of you unable to attend in person: We’re going to do a Facebook Live coverage of the May 17 party. What this means is that you’ll be able to join the festivities AND ask questions live.

I’ve never done anything like Facebook Live, so will post details here when I receive them. But please mark May 17, 7 p.m. eastern standard time on your calendars.

In the meantime, here are the dates, times and locations for the launch parties:

Wednesday, May 17, 7 p.m. EST, 916 Costly Way, Prince Frederick, MD

Thursday, May 18, 7 p.m. EST, 10286 Southern Maryland Blvd, Dunkirk, MD

I hope to meet many of you in person OR on Facebook Live.

And please don’t forget to pickup your ebook copy of The Carolina Emerald. You can buy it on Amazon by clicking here.

Scenes from The Pirate’s Ruby, the latest Jeweler’s Gemstone Mystery

What danger lurks in Pirate’s Cove? People often ask me where I get ideas for my cozy mystery books.  So I thought I’d do a series of posts show inspirations for The Pirate’s Ruby.  Above is a winter photo of one of the cliffs located along the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert … Continue reading →

Childhood Dreams and The Pirate’s Ruby

Lynn Franklin, The Pirate's Ruby, Cozy Mystery, Jeweler's Granddaughter Mystery

Back in second grade when I was penning my first “books,” my vision of publishing went something like this:  I’d awake full of creative energy and climb the stairs to my writing room — a high tower featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and magnificent views of a sunny shoreline or sparkling fields or … Continue reading →

Judy Garland Would So Not Be Impressed

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m writing frantically to complete The Pirate’s Ruby, the second in the jeweler’s granddaughter cozy mystery series.  A few weeks ago, select patrons of JT’s Kitchen had a sneak preview of the book. JT’s Kitchen is one of Calvert County’s newest restaurants and if … Continue reading →

What the World Needs Now is More Santas

Lynn Franklin, The Blue Diamond, Light Mystery

As we bid adieu to the holiday season, it’s often inspiring to reflect on holidays past before marching into the future. Do you remember the first time you saw Santa?  Was he ringing a bell in the cold?  Riding in a parade?  Ho-ho-ho’ing in the mall? I was maybe six years … Continue reading →
