You’re Invited to a Book Launch Party!

Those of you who live in Maryland (or are willing to take a short vacation), please join me for one of my book launch parties for The Carolina Emerald.

Sponsored by Dickinson Jewelers, these parties are really fun. There’s always lots of laughter and good food and drink. Since they’re held in the Dickinsons’ store, you’ll find gorgeous jewelry to drool over. And for the first time ever, I’ll be selling signed, quality paperback copies of all three books.

We’re doing two parties this year, one in the Prince Frederick store and the other in the Dunkirk store. If you live somewhere other than Calvert County, MD, the Dunkirk store is the more northern one and probably more convenient.

You can see the dates, times and locations in the photo above, but I’ll repeat below.

First, however, here’s some good news for those of you unable to attend in person: We’re going to do a Facebook Live coverage of the May 17 party. What this means is that you’ll be able to join the festivities AND ask questions live.

I’ve never done anything like Facebook Live, so will post details here when I receive them. But please mark May 17, 7 p.m. eastern standard time on your calendars.

In the meantime, here are the dates, times and locations for the launch parties:

Wednesday, May 17, 7 p.m. EST, 916 Costly Way, Prince Frederick, MD

Thursday, May 18, 7 p.m. EST, 10286 Southern Maryland Blvd, Dunkirk, MD

I hope to meet many of you in person OR on Facebook Live.

And please don’t forget to pickup your ebook copy of The Carolina Emerald. You can buy it on Amazon by clicking here.

What the World Needs Now is More Santas

Lynn Franklin, The Blue Diamond, Light Mystery

As we bid adieu to the holiday season, it’s often inspiring to reflect on holidays past before marching into the future. Do you remember the first time you saw Santa?  Was he ringing a bell in the cold?  Riding in a parade?  Ho-ho-ho’ing in the mall? I was maybe six years … Continue reading →

Of Dachshunds and Poodles: Part Two

In the last post, I introduced standard poodle Sam, the model for Kimberley West’s Rorschach, and confessed my humiliation when Sam decided to entertain the crowd at his one and only obedience competition.  Today I’d like to introduce Tucker, the miniature longhaired dachshund who served as the model for Al in … Continue reading →

Of Poodles and Dachshunds: Part One

You probably noticed that my lovely post about ospreys was hijacked by the peanut gallery.  So I guess it’s time to introduce the models for Rory and Al, the dogs in the Jeweler’s Gemstone Mysteries. Rory is a Standard Poodle and anyone who’s ever lived with one will recognize his intelligence, … Continue reading →

Where is Osprey Beach?

A reader recently told me he’d spent several hours studying a map looking for Osprey Beach because it sounded so beautiful he wanted to visit it.  While I’m delighted he found the area so believable, I hated to confess Osprey Beach, Kim, Grandpa and the others live only in the minds … Continue reading →
