One Week Only: The Pirate’s Ruby on Sale

Did you know that the birthstone for July is ruby? I thought I’d celebrate by temporarily lowering the price of The Pirate’s Ruby. From now until July 17, you can buy the book for $2.99. That’s almost half off the regular $4.99 cost. So if you know someone who might enjoy the book, this would be a good time to purchase it.

And Happy Birthday to all of you born in July. Please eat an extra piece of cake for me.

And The Winner Is . . .

Jewelers Gemstone Mystery, Lynn Franklin, The Carolina Emerald, The Pirate's Ruby, The Blue Diamond, Kimberley West

Paper-shredding gene? What paper-shredding gene?

Thank you everyone who entered the “Gems to Go” contest and offered to share your love of the Jewelers Gemstone Mystery Series with others. Last night I put all of the entrants’ names into a terrarium style jar and asked my husband to reach inside to select the winner. (Dash offered to do the honors, but lately his paper-shredding gene has been running amok.)

The winner is: Jean Meyer.

Jean’s prize is an autographed paperback edition of The Carolina Emerald.

Congratulations, Jean!

Ending Soon: Drawing for Free Book

You only have one more day to enter the drawing for a free copy of the new paperback edition of the Jeweler’s Gemstone Mystery Series, one book of your choice.**

The new quality paperbacks are 6″ x 8″ in size with oversize type.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Send your snail mail address to Lynn at Lynn@LynnFranklin.com and request a “Gems to Go” packet. The purse-sized packet contains bookmarks, descriptive postcards and ideas for sharing your love of Kim and Rory with others.

2. Deadline for requesting your “Gems to Go” packet is 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 8 — which just happens to be National Town Criers Day. Before newspapers and the internet, town criers delivered all the news that was fit to print . . . er . . . hear.

3. Check back here after 5 p.m. on Saturday to see the winner of the drawing.

At the moment, paperback editions of the Jeweler’s Gemstone Mystery Series are available only through the author. So what are you waiting for? Send for your free “Gems to Go” packet today and be entered in the drawing.

** Due to the high cost of shipping books, I can only offer paperbacks to U.S. residents. If the winner lives outside of the U.S., I will substitute a complete eBook set for you to keep or share with a friend.

Come to a Facebook Live Party!

Buy the Book

I can’t wait to meet readers at one of the parties sponsored by Dickinson Jewelers (see details below). And, thanks to Alison Setzer, those of you who live too far away to participate physically can tune in live through Facebook.

We’ll be doing the live broadcast on Wednesday, May 17, starting between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m. EST.

Here’s how you can join in:

Before the event:

1. Sign in to your Facebook account. Unfortunately, you do need a Facebook account to view the broadcast live. Facebook is free and you can easily create an account; their instructions are pretty clear.

2. Go to Dickinson Jewelers Facebook page and click “like”. When the party starts, Facebook will post a reminder in your home feed.

On the day of the event:

1. Sign in to your Facebook account.

2. Go to Dickinson Jewelers Facebook page, where you should be able to see the live feed.

3. After my talk/reading, I’ll be answering questions. Type your questions on the Dickinson Facebook page and Alison will relay them to me.

If you don’t have/want a Facebook account, please don’t worry. We’ll be recording the talk/reading and I’ll post it on my web site.

But please mark the date and time on your calendar: Wednesday, May 17, starting between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m. EST.

For those of you living close enough to attend the in-store parties, here are the dates, times and locations:

Wednesday, May 17, 7 p.m. EST, 916 Costly Way, Prince Frederick, MD

Thursday, May 18, 7 p.m. EST, 10286 Southern Maryland Blvd, Dunkirk, MD

Hope to meet you in person OR on Facebook Live.

You’re Invited to a Book Launch Party!

Those of you who live in Maryland (or are willing to take a short vacation), please join me for one of my book launch parties for The Carolina Emerald.

Sponsored by Dickinson Jewelers, these parties are really fun. There’s always lots of laughter and good food and drink. Since they’re held in the Dickinsons’ store, you’ll find gorgeous jewelry to drool over. And for the first time ever, I’ll be selling signed, quality paperback copies of all three books.

We’re doing two parties this year, one in the Prince Frederick store and the other in the Dunkirk store. If you live somewhere other than Calvert County, MD, the Dunkirk store is the more northern one and probably more convenient.

You can see the dates, times and locations in the photo above, but I’ll repeat below.

First, however, here’s some good news for those of you unable to attend in person: We’re going to do a Facebook Live coverage of the May 17 party. What this means is that you’ll be able to join the festivities AND ask questions live.

I’ve never done anything like Facebook Live, so will post details here when I receive them. But please mark May 17, 7 p.m. eastern standard time on your calendars.

In the meantime, here are the dates, times and locations for the launch parties:

Wednesday, May 17, 7 p.m. EST, 916 Costly Way, Prince Frederick, MD

Thursday, May 18, 7 p.m. EST, 10286 Southern Maryland Blvd, Dunkirk, MD

I hope to meet many of you in person OR on Facebook Live.

And please don’t forget to pickup your ebook copy of The Carolina Emerald. You can buy it on Amazon by clicking here.
